I want my daddy
"I want my daddy". That was Alicey's theme last night. Brian is out of town. It was a long day at work. Alicey didn't nap at my mom's and was in one heck of a mood. I was tired and by 6:45 pm had listened to Avy scream one too many times after Alicey hit her in the head. So, Alicey got sent to bed. She cried. She yelled for everything she could think of, "I's thirsty, Change me, I hungry, Brush my teeth, I have sugar bugs, Read book, Cover me up". I guess when she had asked for everything she could think of she yelled, "I want my daddy" over and over. Usually by the end of the night when I'm tired and had it with Alicey Brian steps in. He's the runner at night for all her demands. He can usually deal with her when I can't. But he wasn't here. It was just me and two kids were just more than I could deal with so Alicey had to stay in her room until I could get Avenley to sleep. Luckily, Avy's my easy one at night. She takes her bottle and goes to sleep with out a peep. She was down by 7:15 pm and I took a deep breath and let Alicey out. She was sufficiently humbled. She crawled into my lap with her blankie. We had a little Family Home Evening just the two of us. We used her little Mary figurine to have a lesson on obeying your parents and how Jesus listened to Mary when she asked him to do something. I'm sure it won't sink in. I'm sure in the morning she'll be back to smacking Avenley in the head. I'm sure I'll be back to losing my patience, AGAIN, like I've sworn I won't. I suck at patience and Alicey tests the little bit I do have. Thank heaven I'm not a single parent. It's much easier when Brian is here. Let's hope the week goes by a little faster than yesterday did!!! I'm already tired.

Superbowl Sunday!!!
Here's how our Superbowl Sunday went. Avy woke up at 6 am. I gave her her bottle and figured she'd be up for the day. She drank her bottle and then started pointing to her crib. Usually she points to the door because she wants to go out. Since she pointed to the crib I laid her back down. She slept until 7:30 SWEET!!!!! And Alicey slept until 7 am. YAHOO!!!!
Between 6 am and 7:30 when Avy got back up, I got ready for church, got Alicey ready for church, put the laundry away, and started my coupon cutting. Once Avy got up we had breakfast (well the girls did, anyhow, it was fast Sunday and I was fasting) and I got her ready for church. The girls wore denim today and I took a few pics. I love my cute girls!!
We actually were on time. I love morning church. It's so much easier to get there on time. In the afternoon we were always waking kids up from naps or we'd get busy with something else and run late. Morning church is much better!!!
Church was fine. We made it all the way through. Avy fell asleep during Sacrament meeting. I'm telling you, morning church ROCKS!!!
We came home, Alicey fell asleep on the couch and Avy finished her nap in her crib. HOORAY!! I finished my coupons and then got ready to go to my brothers.
Brian surprised me with another B-day present. I wasn't expecting it at all. I thought my weekend away in Park City and my new boots were my presents but he had another one for me.

I opened it up and it is the steam mop that I wanted. It's even nicer than the one I was wanting because it's a mop and more. It has attachments for just about every little nook and cranny I'd want to clean. It's totally awesome and I can't wait to try it out on Wednesday (my cleaning day) this week!!
Thanks, hon, I LOVE it!!!
And the best present I could ever get... are these two sweet little girls. They thought the empty box was FANTASTIC. They played for it for a long time. I think that box is going to come in handy this week to keep the girls entertained and help me keep my sanity while Brian's out of town!!!
At 4 pm we went to my brother Blake's for a Superbowl party. He just finished his basement and offered up his house to watch the game.
We had tons of good food. The boys all watched the game upstairs in the TV room and us girls hung out with the kids in the basement.
My mom had a cute football BINGO game for the kids, balloons, and football cookies to decorate.
Cyndi made the cutest cupcakes but I'm not allowed to blog about them or post a picture. She'll post it on her own blog. FINE. WHATEVER (you know I'm joking with ya, Cims). Keep your cute cupcake picture but just so you know... when I upload this to print it to my blog book, I'm including the cupcake picture because they were so cute and yummy, too. I wish I had one right now and I'd be eating it!
We left the party early because Brian had to catch his flight to Vegas. He was bummed because he was finally watching football with the guys and had to leave. He did manage to make it through security and find a TV in time to see the end of the game so that was good for him!!
The girls fell asleep in the car on the way home and amazingly stayed asleep when I transferred them to their beds. HOORAY!!
I hope the week goes by fast. I hate when Brian's gone. Anyhow, I'm tired of typing and there's still lots more pictures. They're all of the super bowl party so enjoy!!!

Last day in Park City
Our last day in Park City was pretty fun. I had my conference in the morning. That part wasn't fun but a necessary evil. After the conference we ran to Walmart to get wrapping paper. I figured it would be easier to get the girls presents in the house if they were already wrapped. Alicey tends to be a little snooper if presents are involved and I didn't want her to see her B-day presents.
It turned out to be quite the big stack of presents. I guess the girls are spoiled. There are presents there for both girls and my niece Anna so I guess it's not too many for three girls.
Check out wasn't until noon so we just hung out in the room and watched Cheaper by the Dozen on TV, had lunch and then checked out. Here's Brian loading up the truck. We had a few hours to kill until the afternoon session of my conference so we went and saw another movie Extraordinary Measures. It was FANTASTIC!!!
Three movies in three days is a lot for us. I love movies so it was great!!
We got back to my mom's house about 7 pm and picked up the girls. We got home and put Avy to bed. Alicey didn't go down until later.
I unpacked from Park City and repacked Brian for his trip to Vegas tonight. He'll be gone all week. BUMMER. I hate when he's gone.
Anyhow, it was a really good trip and an awesome B-day but it's good to be home!!!

My B-day
Here's what we did on my birthday. It was a really good day. I am starting to miss the girls, though. It's weird to be gone from them for so long. It hasn't phased Brian, though, I think he'd like an even longer break!!!
So, here's me in the morning getting ready to go to my conference. BLAH. Not a good way to start out my b-day but I needed the CME's. Brian stayed back and watched TV. Lucky guy!! Luckily the morning session was over by 9:00 am so we could enjoy the day!!
We decided to go shopping for my B-day. The idea was to buy stuff for me but I got a little sidetracked and got stuff for the girls. Oh well. At least their B-day's are taken care off!!!
The boots turned out to be another issue. 5 years ago Brian's mom bought me a pair of boots for Christmas that I LOVE. They are so warm, look cute in jeans but are dressy enough to slip under a long skirt and wear to church. I've totally worn them out and my goal was to get another pair. I found several but thanks to my crappy feet, everything hurt. Several hours and 300 pairs of black boots later, I finally found a pair. YIPPEE! Hopefully these will last a long time. I hate shopping, for me anyway.
Brian really wanted to see Avatar so here we are 3D glasses and all. We tried to take the picture ourselves. Not the best angle for either of us. Oh well. It was one bizarre show. Medieval Indian meets final fantasy alien. Don't get me wrong, it was an enjoyable show just don't know how they ever came up with that one. I'm thinking hallucinogenic drugs or a lot of alcohol.
After the show, it was back to the conference for the evening session and then we came back to our room where Brian cooked me a gourmet steak dinner for my B-day. I LOVE his steaks!! Better than any restaurant and I got to eat in my PJ's and new fuzzy slippers! HOORAY!
It was a good day. I also got a phone call from my brother Branden in Afghanistan. That may well have been the best present ever. Always good to hear from him and now that he's safe!!
Here's to being 34!! I can tell it's going to be a good year!!!!

Happy Birthday to me
Here's the top ten reasons why this is a Happy B-day to me...
1- A weekend away without the girls. HOORAY!!!
That's explanation enough!!
2- A trip to the Salt Lake Temple. The celestial room never fails to take my breath away.
3- A tour of the new Church History Library. AMAZING!!!
4- A cute little condo room perfect for two with FREE Wi-Fi so I can blog. YIPPEE!!
5- A separate heater in the room that I have set to a toasty 73 degrees!
6- A long nap yesterday. Enough said!!!
7- Channel surfing that didn't include looking for Scooby or Dora but did include a Baby Story. Love that show.
8- Going to a non animated movie and getting to stay in my seat the whole time without having to chase anyone up and down the aisle. When in Rome was FABULOUS, by the way.

The things we do for kids...
Here's Alicey the other morning eating her "princess" oatmeal. I have to entice her to eat breakfast lately and I've found if I add a little drop of red food coloring to her oatmeal, it instantly becomes "princess" oatmeal and she gobbles it up. FUNNY!! I guess ya do what you've got to!!
This is also the reason why Monday we had to escape to the movie theater during the middle of the day. I had the day off and the girls were especially whiny so we caught the 12:25 showing of Alvin and the Chipmunks. There was a grand total of 5 of us in the movie theater so it was awesome because the girls could run around as they pleased an no one cared. This was the first time I've taken both girls to the show by myself but I think we may try it again.
I've also discovered that the new grocery store in the Terrace gives out kid size ice cream cones for $.25. Best bribery in the world. Shopping is so easy while they're licking away. Goes against all my better judgement - Avy with an ice cream cone but I come armed with a thing of wipes and the ease of our shopping trip makes the stickiness worth it.
And the last thing that falls into this category... Alicey bathing in the sink. She is entering into the terrible tantruming three stage and no matter what I ask elicits a meltdown. Lately it has been over the bath tub. If she can bathe in the sink, however, no tantrums. Fine, do what you want. The things we do for kids!!!
Brian and I are headed for Park City this morning. I've got a medical conference all weekend and we're using it as an excuse for a weekend away. My mom and sisters are pitching in and keeping the girls. HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks guys. I owe you all one!!!

I need more books
I've finished all my library books. I've got more on hold but they're not here yet. Here's what I've read the past week...
Rhett Butler's People (the author name is escaping me) LOVED it but of course, I'd love anything Gone With the Wind
Lost Symbols by Dan Brown - as with his first two books LOVED it
Ford County by John Grisham - this was a little different than his other books because it was a collection of small stories. It was still good, though.
The Associate by John Grisham - oh, the usual suspenseful, law filled Grisham. LOVED it!
Cross Country by James Patterson - I usually really love his books but this one annoyed me. It was the same murder solving suspense ridden books he usually has but this one had the main character following a killer to Nigeria and while all the crime and brutality was probably accurate for Nigeria, I spent the whole book wanting to yell at the character to go home and get the heck out of Africa. Not my favorite!
I'm loving the girls new early bed time (too bad Avy doesn't stay asleep all night!!!) so I have time to read and Brian's loving my head in the book because then he watches his stupid crap on TV that I usually complain like his dumb ultimate fighting or some other worthless show like Glen Beck. HATE IT! I am loving that I actually have time to read again. These are the first five books I've even picked up since Avenley was born. Can't wait for my other books to come in from the library!!
